SWD Inc. is committed to prevention of pollution and continuous improvement. To that end every environmental aspect will be monitored to meet regulatory requirements and evaluated for opportunities to move beyond compliance.
 

QUALITY & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
ISO 9001:2000 & ISO 14001:2004 CERTIFICATION

On March 18, 1998, SWD Inc. achieved ISO 9002, QS 9000, and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management systems certification. SWD Inc. is the first company in the U.S. to achieve these international registrations simultaneously. The company believes it is the first metal finisher in the United States to receive ISO 14001 certification. The accreditation process took more than two years of bi-weekly meetings with an independent consultant, writing, and implementing detailed standards to achieve the certification goals. During the two-year accreditation quest, SWD Inc. developed comprehensive quality and environmental systems policy and procedure manuals to guide the company's daily operations. The combined 300-plus page documents comprise details ranging from management responsibilities, purchasing, process control, inspection and testing, to training, servicing, continuous improvement, customer-specific requirements and environmental standards.

SWD Inc. has discontinued QS 9000 accreditation from our system and revised our system to meet the goals set forth in ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 17025 to help us better meet and exceed industry standards.

LABORATORY ACCREDITATION
SWD Inc.'s laboratory is accredited by A2LA (The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation). This allows SWD Inc. to certify the quality of its metal finishing processes.
